Mr. Bill
Osborne designed the Platter as a first time gas-powered control-line
model airplane for kids that is crash-proof. Bill Osborne founded one
of the oldest control-line model field in Alameda, known as the Bill Osborne
Model Airplane Field.

Lessons with Bill Osborne
This is what Bill loved to do on a typical weekend at the field. Teaching
kids fly model airplane was his passion in life. There is know one I admire
more and I miss him dearly.

brought me back into the hobby since my childhood days. At the time, I

at VSC 2008 as a tribute to Shareen Fancher. Heretofore lost footage of
Shareen Fancher, her big black Lincoln and a disturbing encounter with
Ted's Nobler....or the sound of one Nobler smooshing.
My
name is Heman Lee. I met Bill Osborne in 1997 and was amazed in
his efforts to mentor the next generation in this great hobby. This
web site is dedicated to Bill Osborne, who
founded the Bill Osborne Model Airplane Flying
Field in Alameda, Bill
designed this model as a trainer for his youth modeling program. He
has allowed me to share this Platter design with all of you on the Internet.
I would appreciate any Platter stories and picture you have. Please
Email or send them to me so I can share them with others on the internet.
Bill
passes away in 2003 and I hope to honor his legancy with this web page.
